Fusion reactors require Deuterium as a fuel source, which is supplied via pipe. Fusion reactors deliver power equivalent to 5 normal reactors but require about half the space.

Fusion reactors require power to activate, and must fully activate before they begin providing power. The reactor takes 40 seconds to activate, during which its power consumption will increase up to 500 MW. In total it will draw 10,050 MW during activation. Once activated, the reactor will stop requiring power and begin providing it.

Currently (Alpha 14), the powergrid will show the fusion reactor contributing to power supply during activation, but this is misleading as the reactor's power is not actually supplied until activation completes.
