Storage designates a location for crew to put items that aren't immediately needed by other equipment.

Without a designated storage location, the crew will leave unused items where they are, which will block docking bays, drone bays, and any equipment that produces items (after the first item blocks further output).

Storage Types edit

Storage Zone edit

Designated storage spots on the floor, identified by yellow paint. Each square can hold one item. Crew can walk through these areas, even when filled with items.

Storage Crate edit

Storage crates hold items more compactly. Small storage crates are 2x3 and hold 36 items. Storage crates are 4x3 and hold 70 items.

Crates can be loaded from any square and unloaded from any square, it need not be the same square. This can be useful in combination with Robot Arms, as one crate can have multiple arms loading or unloading it at different points.

Right-clicking on crates provides the ability to set the item type, and then additional options:

Storage Crate Right-Click Options
Option Text Description
Storage: 0/36 Displays the current storage amount and set maximum.

- and + icons on either side of the text can be used to decrement/increment the maximum.

Crew Loading Allow or prevent crew from placing items into this crate. Robot arms are always able to.
Crew Unloading Allow or prevent crew from taking items out of this crate. Robot arms are always able to.
Prioritise Zones/Crate If both Zone and Crate storage is available, specifies which should be filled first by crew.

Designating Item Type edit

Storage must be assigned an item type to store. This can be a specific item type, e.g. Fuel, or it can be a category like Mission Cargo or All Cargo.
