Game time passes differently than actual time.

Hours[edit | edit source]

A game hour is equal to 600 seconds (i.e. 10 minutes). So when food or water consumption states X per hour, X is being subtracted every 600 seconds, not every 3,600 seconds.

Seconds[edit | edit source]

The speed at which seconds pass appears to vary by computer. For example, 18 seconds in real life may be 22 seconds in the game.

How to measure game seconds[edit | edit source]

  1. Connect a battery to any equipment that uses 1 MW (most idle equipment does)
  2. Charge up the battery, then disconnect the power source from the battery
  3. The battery's power will decrease by 1 every game second
