Equipment that must be operated by a Crew Member to be effective. In the schematics view, a green hexagon next to the equipment indicates that the equipment requires an operator and where they will stand. The hexagon will be filled when the operator is present.

The operator must be the appropriate type for the equipment. For example, a Science Station must be operated by a Scientist, not a regular crew member.
