Grid size 7 x 4
Fuel consumption 0.1 idle
2 at max throttle
Power consumption 2 MW idle
40 MW at max throttle
Power category Engines
Inputs Power
Fuel
Outputs Propulsion

An engine is a ship's main propulsion system, while thrusters are needed for fine movement and maneuvers. The greater mass a ship has, the more engines are needed to provide movement.

Engines are 7 x 4, cannot be rotated, and must intersect the Hull with at least the rightmost two columns inside the hull. They require 6 unobstructed squares to the left of them.

Engines will load fuel while they are unpowered. Fuel capacity is 4.

History[edit | edit source]

  • Update 1.rc2: Introduced.
  • Alpha1A: Changed width from 6 to 7, removed wall constraint, and added interior constraint.
