Deep Space Industrialists
Deep Space Industrialists is the first story contract in the Stargate Project questline. It is initiated when the player enters the NG0 system for the first time, signaling the start of the massive interstellar construction effort. Completing this single contract fulfills both Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the overall Stargate Project.
Initiation edit
The contract begins when the player jumps into the NG0 system. The player immediately receives a communication from Alexander James Elistar, the Chairman and founder of A.J.E. Industries, outlining his proposal for a 50/50 partnership to manufacture parts for the "Andromeda Project" (the Stargate Project).
- Mission Objective: Accept Alexander's proposal.
- Acceptance: The contract is formally accepted via the Quick Contracts Info interface.
Phase 1: Recommissioning the A.J.E. Foundry (Stargate Project Phase 1) edit
Upon accepting the contract, Elistar transfers ownership of the A.J.E. Foundry (a Factory Station) to the player and provides initial seed capital ($600,000 is released after this initial delivery). Elistar explains that the facility has fallen into disrepair and must be restored to basic functionality.
Objectives (Phase 1/3):
Phase 2: Recycling and Certification edit
Once the station is pressurized, Elistar emphasizes resource management and tasks the player with setting up recycling capabilities and manufacturing the first small batch for certification.
Objectives (Phase 2/3):
- Install Smelter.
- Set Smelter to Scrap Metal recycling (to produce Metal Ingots).
- Store 10 Scrap Metal near Smelter.
- Store 10 Metal Ingots near Smelter.
- Manufacture and deliver 10 Stargate Frames for certification. (Completion of this objective fulfills Stargate Project Phase 1, unlocking the Stargate Window interface.)
Phase 3: Bulk Manufacturing (Stargate Project Phase 2) edit
Upon successful certification, an Andromeda Project Representative congratulates the player, and Elistar releases the promised $600,000 seed money, urging the player to scale up production for a massive bulk order. This phase concludes Stargate Project Phase 2.
- Investment Capital: $600,000 (Released at the start of Phase 3).
Objectives (Phase 3/3):
- Scale up production (Requires investment in more Smelters, Fabricators, Reactors, and Crew).
- Smelt 200 Metallic Minerals (Requires purchasing minerals via the Trade Window or Mining it).
- Produce 200 Stargate Frames.
- Sell Stargate Frames.
Profit Note edit
- Exploiting Price Difference: During this phase, Stargate Frames sell for $5,000 each. After completion of the contract, the price drops to $1,000. Players are highly advised to maximize production before the 200-unit requirement is met.
Conclusion edit
Once all 200 Stargate Frames are sold, Elistar contacts the player to settle the 50/50 profit split, leading to the final decision of the contract:
- "I knew this would be a very profitable endeavour for us... Every time you sell a batch of parts to the Andromeda Project, you'll owe me half the revenue... I'd appreciate it if you'd pay promptly."
The player must now choose to settle the debt (e.g., $500,000) or cancel the partnership.
- Option 1: PAY X ($500,000 OWED)
- Elistar confirms: "I've received my share. Excellent work, Captain... We can take a short break, and I'll give you a call when I'm ready to start work on the next phase of the stargate project."
- Consequences: The contract is fulfilled. The partnership with Elistar continues, leading to the next contract (Phase 3).
- Option 2: CANCEL THE DEAL WITH X
- Elistar warns the player.
- Consequences: The player immediately loses control of the A.J.E. Foundry.
- Overall Completion: Completion of all objectives fulfills both Stargate Project Phase 1 and Phase 2.
- Reward: $600,000 initial capital, plus total sales revenue minus operating costs and the chosen profit split.
